University of Blida 2 Celebrates the 25th Edition of Italian Week

The Faculty of Arts and Languages at the University of Blida 2 Lounici Ali hosted, this Thursday morning, a study day entitled « The Spread of Italian Language in the World: Diverse Identity, Linguistic and Cultural Contexts, » on the occasion of the twenty-fifth edition of Italian Week under the theme « Italian, a Language Beyond Borders. »
The opening ceremony was attended by Professor Farid Kourtel, Rector of the University of Blida 2, and Mrs. Antonia Grandi, Director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Algeria, in addition to a select group of specialized professors and students.
In his opening speech, Professor Kourtel praised the importance of this academic event as a fundamental milestone for continuing the dissemination and teaching of the Italian language in the world, calling on students to seize the opportunity to develop their knowledge and deepen their linguistic and cultural skills. He affirmed that the University of Blida 2 is one of the leading national poles in teaching the Italian language, thanks to the solid academic partnerships it maintains with the Italian side.
For her part, Mrs. Grandi emphasized the Italian Cultural Institute’s firm commitment to promoting the Italian language in Algeria and supporting specialized departments across various national universities, praising the notable development in Algerian students’ interest in learning the Italian language, which reflects the depth of relations and cultural and academic cooperation between the two countries in general, and the University of Blida 2 in particular.
It should be noted that Italian Week, scheduled to take place from the 13th to the 19th of this month, represents a global cultural and linguistic event aimed at enhancing cultural exchange.
