The University of Blida 2 hosting a training session on university safety and prevention for Central Region universities

The University of Blida 2 hosted today a training session on university safety and prevention for Central Region universities, held at the “Saïd Ayadi” conference hall, with the participation of National Gendarmerie officials, representatives of the supervising ministry, and executives from various sectors.

In his opening remarks, Professor Farid Kourtel, Rector of the University, welcomed the attendees and praised the organization of this training session, which reflects the joint commitment of both sectors to ensuring a safe and stable university environment. He stressed that campus security is a fundamental pillar for the success of the educational process and the achievement of academic excellence, calling for strengthened efforts to protect the university community from any threats to its safety and stability.

The representative of the President of the Regional Conference of Central Universities highlighted that this session aligns with the higher education sector’s strategy to enhance human resource competencies and build a safe and supportive learning environment. He emphasized the importance of this training in preparing university security staff to address emerging challenges.

In the same context, the representative of the National Gendarmerie Command stated that the initiative falls within a joint effort to activate and improve the security system within university campuses, underscoring the strong cooperation between the Gendarmerie and the Ministry of Higher Education. He added that the training program aims to strengthen participants’ knowledge in combating crimes and social ills, thus contributing to better student well-being and a healthy university environment.

Reinforcing this comprehensive vision, Professor Farid Bouzid, Director of Human Resources at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed the sector’s strong commitment to boosting vigilance and security measures, reiterating the ministry’s dedication to providing a safe environment that protects the university space from any threats. He then officially announced the opening of the training session.

Following the opening ceremony, the session’s activities began with participants divided into two training groups, supervised by senior officers from the National Gendarmerie, as part of a specialized two-day training program.
