University of Blida 2 hoste the International Students Welcome Day « Student Marhaba Day »
University of Blida 2 hosted today the International Students Welcome Day « Student Marhaba Day » at the Affroun 4 University Residence, in a festive atmosphere that reflected the depth of human and academic relations that unite the Algerian university with its students from around the world.
The ceremony, organized by the university presidency in coordination with the Directorate of University Services, was held in response to directives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research aimed at enhancing the academic and social integration of international students. The event witnessed a large turnout of international students enrolled at University of Blida 2.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the University Rector, Professor Farid Kourtel, Dr. Safa Oulad Haddar, Vice Rector for External Relations, emphasized that « the university opens its arms to its students from all parts of the world, based on its firm belief that knowledge is a bridge for communication between peoples and cultures. » She added: « Student Marhaba Day is not merely a celebration, but rather a living embodiment of the university’s steadfast commitment to supporting the higher education journey of international students and providing a stimulating academic and social environment that enables them to achieve their scientific ambitions. »
For their part, representatives of international students expressed their deep gratitude to Algeria – its leadership, people, and University of Blida 2 in particular. The representative of Chadian students delivered a speech in which he praised « the exceptional hospitality and continuous care that African students receive at the universities. » The representative of Palestinian students also expressed his thanks to Algeria and University of Blida 2 for providing all the appropriate conditions to continue their educational journey despite the difficult circumstances their people are going through.
The event was attended by a select group of academic and administrative officials, led by the deans of the faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences, Economics, and Arts and Languages, in addition to the Director of University Services, directors of university residences, as well as the head of the International Students Office.
