University of Blida 2 organize a national doctoral symposium

University of Blida 2 organized today a national doctoral symposium titled “From Archival Documents and Manuscripts to Historical Information: Integrating Historical and Library Science Approaches in Dealing with Archives.” The event took place at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, with the participation of leading researchers and doctoral students from both fields.
The symposium was opened by the Vice-Rector for Pedagogy, Professor Saïd Boukhaouch, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Redouane Zaâmouche. In his opening remarks, he underscored the importance of the symposium, emphasizing that the integration of history and library sciences has become essential in the digital age, where handling archival documents and manuscripts requires interdisciplinary skills. He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering high-quality research that balances tradition and modernity.
The symposium’s chair, Dr. Dalila Boudjenah, stated that this scientific event seeks to build methodological bridges between historians and librarians to ensure the preservation and accurate scientific use of collective memory. She explained that the symposium addresses key questions related to transforming archival documents from raw material into verified historical information through shared scientific approaches combining critical historical analysis with modern library science techniques.
