The Minister of Higher Education inaugurates a 2,000-bed university residence at Blida 2 University and reveals: Digitalization saved 500 million dinars and enabled its transfer to other important areas

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Kamal Baddari, today inaugurated the “Saidoun Abdelkader – El-Affroun 8” university residence at Blida 2 University, offering a capacity of 2,000 beds. The inauguration took place as part of a working and inspection visit to the province, during which the Minister received a detailed briefing on the residence’s facilities and operational capabilities.
In a press statement on the sidelines of the event, Prof. Baddari highlighted the tangible results achieved through the digitization of the higher education sector, noting that digital transformation has contributed significantly to rationalizing expenditures and increasing productivity. He affirmed that this shift has enabled the recruitment of 2,000 assistant professors, while saving 500 million Algerian dinars, which has been redirected to support innovative projects.
The Minister further explained that the digitization of university services—including housing, catering, and transportation—has brought about a qualitative leap in the management of campus facilities and has helped enhance the quality of services offered to students.
