Researchers from various universities are discussing the applications of artificial intelligence in the humanities at the University of Blida 2
University of Blida 2 hosted a hybrid national symposium titled « The Use of AI Applications in Scientific Research in the Humanities, » organized by the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences in coordination with the House of Artificial Intelligence, with participation from academics and researchers both in-person and remotely.
University Rector Professor Bachir Ameur opened the event, stressing that AI’s rapid spread raises fundamental questions about the future of humanities research, making such initiatives an academic necessity for serious scholarly debate. He affirmed the university’s commitment to providing an institutional framework supporting researchers in exploring and evaluating these tools.
Dean Professor Redhouane Zammouchi noted the symposium responded to a genuine need among researchers in history, library science, and social sciences. Symposium Chair Dr. Samira Kechayri added that humanities heritage now requires new research methodologies capable of harnessing AI for processing and analysis, describing the event as a space for building a shared vision on the responsible use of these technologies.
Professor Amara Messaouda, Director of the House of Artificial Intelligence, praised the partnership as a model of integration, affirming that AI is not a replacement tool but a means of enhancing human research capabilities.
