The Intensive Language Learning Center at Blida 2 University honors its staff in recognition of a season full of achievements

The University of Blida 2 hosted today a recognition ceremony honouring the professors and administrative staff of the Intensive Language Centre, in appreciation of their efforts throughout the 2025–2026 academic year. The event was attended by the Rector, with the Director of the Higher School of Commerce as guest of honour, alongside staff from various central services that collaborated with the Centre throughout the year.
In his address, Rector Professor Bachir Ameur commended the Centre’s achievements within a relatively short period, noting that it had « moved beyond its purely academic character to become an effective economic driver serving the university and its regional environment. » He called on the university’s various structures to continue coordinating with the Centre in support of its future ambitions.
Director of the Centre, Dr. Fatima Zahali, explained that this year’s results were « the fruit of integrated collective work between the various administrative and teaching staff, » adding that the Centre aims, in the coming phase, to expand its partnerships and diversify its training offerings in line with growing demand.
The Centre recorded what was described as an exceptional performance this year, attracting nearly 3,000 enrolments across three training sessions held for the first time since its establishment. The first session (October–January) saw the highest turnout with around 1,500 enrolments, followed by the second session (February–April) with 900 enrolments, and the third session (June–July) with approximately 200 enrolments — reflecting sustained demand for the Centre’s services throughout the year. The Centre offers training in five foreign languages — English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian — targeting four categories of learners: faculty, staff, students, and external trainees, as part of the institution’s drive to strengthen its engagement with its social and economic environment.
As guest of honour, Professor Ishak Kherchi, Director of the Higher School of Commerce, expressed his appreciation for the Centre’s valuable contribution to training the School’s faculty. The Centre also presented a special tribute to the Rector in recognition of his continued support. The ceremony concluded with a symbolic recognition of all staff who contributed to this year’s achievements.
