The University of Blida 2 organize a national conference on « The Reality of Electronic Gaming Addiction in Algerian Society »

Today, Professor Farid Kourtel, Rector of the University of Blida 2 Lounici Ali, opened the proceedings of the national conference on « The Reality of Electronic Gaming Addiction in Algerian Society, » organized by the Laboratory of Childhood and Pre-School Education at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
During his opening speech, the Rector emphasized the necessity of conducting an in-depth scientific study of this growing phenomenon, noting: « We are facing a real challenge that affects the mental health of our children, and the observed figures are alarming and call for concerted efforts from all stakeholders—families, educational institutions, and researchers—to protect our children from the dangers of excessive technology use. »
For her part, the conference president, Professor Akila Aissou, explained that the meeting aims to monitor the reality of the phenomenon and analyze its psychological, social, and educational dimensions, based on field studies that reveal a notable increase in the number of children and adolescents who spend long hours in front of screens. She affirmed that « electronic gaming addiction has become a research and educational issue requiring a comprehensive strategy that protects our children without depriving them of technology use. »
