University of Blida 2 hosts a high-level national debate on the status of women in the Quranic discourse
Blida 2 University hosted yesterday a national scientific colloquium entitled « Women in the Discourse of the Holy Quran, » aimed at elevating intellectual debate on major civilizational issues.
The opening ceremony was presided over by University Rector Professor Ameur Bachir, in the presence of senior academic figures, including the representative of the Dean of the Grand Mosque (Djamaa El Djazaïr) and Prince Khaled El Djazaïri, a fifth-generation descendant of Emir Abdelkader.
In his opening remarks, Professor Ameur Bachir emphasized the importance of publishing the colloquium’s proceedings as a written scientific reference to enrich the national library and guide students and researchers. He stressed that the subject of women in Quranic discourse is not an intellectual luxury, but a scientific and civilizational necessity.
Colloquium chairperson Dr. Wahiba Kani highlighted that women in Quranic discourse serve as a mirror reflecting the greatness of Islam and the universality of its message to humanity.
The event saw wide participation from researchers across the country, and was notably distinguished by the quality contributions of students from Blida 2 University’s Higher Teacher Training School — a testament to the strength of their academic formation.
