University of Blida 2 hosts an international symposium on artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship
Professor Saïd Boukhaouch, Vice-Rector for Pedagogy, inaugurated today—on behalf of Rector Professor Farid Kourtel—the International Scientific Symposium on “Artificial Intelligence between Scientific Research and Entrepreneurship: Opportunities, Applications, and Challenges.” The event, organized by the Center for Modern ICT and Pedagogical Practices in partnership with the House of Artificial Intelligence and the university’s business incubator, was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science along with several professors and researchers.
In his opening remarks, Professor Boukhaouch emphasized that artificial intelligence has become a strategic axis for economic development, stressing the importance of transforming academic research into practical entrepreneurial projects. He noted that Algerian universities must keep pace with the global technological revolution by fostering innovation among youth—a vision embraced by Blida 2 University in its strategy.
Professor Masouda Amara, Director of the House of Artificial Intelligence, described the event as “a significant step toward enhancing AI’s role in Algeria’s higher education system,” highlighting its mission to bridge academic research and practical applications.
Dr. Hammouda, Director of the organizing center, stated that the symposium aligns with the center’s vision to “promote applied research in emerging technologies,” adding that cooperation with the university’s business incubator represents a model of effective partnership between research and entrepreneurship.
The symposium also featured international participation, notably that of Dr. Marwa Salah, a Jordanian researcher and AI expert known for developing the registered scientific innovation “Simulation Theory.” Her contribution added depth to discussions addressing investment opportunities, practical applications in economic sectors, and ethical and technical challenges, aiming to strengthen collaboration between researchers and entrepreneurs.
