University of Blida 2 concludes its 2025-2026 academic year with a record of outstanding scientific and academic achievements

The University of Blida 2 hosted today the closing ceremony of the 2025–2026 academic year, in the presence of the Wali of Blida Province, Mr. Jamal Eddine Haschache, the President of the Provincial People’s Assembly, representatives of local and security authorities, and social partners.
In his address, the Wali commended the achievements of the university community, noting the significance of the occasion coinciding with the 64th anniversary of Independence and Youth Day. He underscored the importance of strengthening the university’s ties with its institutional environment in service of local development.
Rector Professor Bachir Ameur highlighted the year’s key milestones: 4,801 students graduated at Bachelor’s level and 3,109 at Master’s level. Faculty members successfully published research in high-ranking peer-reviewed journals, and 14 national partnership agreements were signed, alongside the renewal of international agreements with Italian and British universities, with two Canadian universities in the pipeline. Student life flourished with around 30 scientific and cultural events, 6 gold medals and approximately 30 silver and bronze medals in sports, and the establishment of a student amateur theatre troupe. The Rector also noted the university’s improved ranking in the Webometrics global index and steady progress toward ISO certification.
The ceremony saw the announcement of the Institutional Excellence Awards: Mr. Bilal Bouchkara received the Best Staff Member award, Dr. Sofiane Laradi was named Best Researcher, and the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences was honoured as Best Faculty.
The President of the Entrepreneurs and Industrialists Club (CEI), Mr. Rachid Bouhamad, reaffirmed the Club’s commitment to employing the top eight graduates and announced plans to integrate the top ten students from each discipline into the workforce.
The ceremony also included the signing of two cooperation agreements — with the External Rehabilitation Service for Prisoners of Blida and the Directorate of Tourism and Traditional Industries — alongside a historical lecture by Professor Sidi Moussa Mohamed Cherif, and a theatrical performance entitled « 1275 » by the university’s theatre troupe.
