Blida 2 University Examines the Role of University Interfaces in Achieving Financial Sustainability and Economic Development

The Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Blida 2 hosted today the national conference entitled « The Role of the Four University Interfaces in Achieving Financial Sustainability and Economic Development in Algeria — Challenges and Support Prospects », organised through the Law and Real Estate Laboratory.
The conference was opened by Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Professor Meriem Touati, representing Rector Professor Bachir Ameur, in the presence of faculty, researchers, and representatives of economic institutions and partner bodies.
In her opening address, Professor Touati affirmed that the Algerian university is called upon to move beyond its traditional training role and become a genuine actor in the economic cycle, noting that university interfaces represent practical spaces for valorising research outputs and transforming them into projects and start-ups — opening new avenues for resource diversification and financial sustainability.
Conference Chair Dr. Nassima Hachoud explained that each of the four university interfaces — the **Entrepreneurship Development Centre**, the **Business Incubator**, the **Technology Support and Innovation Centre (CATI)**, and the **University-Enterprise Liaison Office (BLUE)** — was dedicated a separate thematic axis, with the aim of examining each one’s contribution to transforming scientific knowledge into sustainable economic value. The conference also addressed legal, regulatory, and financial challenges, and explored potential support mechanisms.
Organised in collaboration with the research unit on investment real estate mechanisms, under the PRFU project « Regional Development Investment in Marginalised Areas », the conference was held under the motto « From the University to Enterprises… From Knowledge to Wealth », with the aim of producing actionable recommendations to strengthen university-enterprise partnership and support local development.
