University of Blida 2 Celebrates Its ISO 9001:2015 Certification Alongside the Opening of the New Academic Year
The University of Blida 2 hosted today, Sunday, an official ceremony celebrating its award of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Conformity Certificate, coinciding with the opening of the 2026–2027 academic year.
In his address, Rector Professor Bachir Ameur affirmed that obtaining this international certification « reflects an unwavering commitment to embedding a culture of quality, upholding the principles of good governance, and continuously improving institutional performance, » stressing that this achievement is not a final destination but the beginning of a new phase requiring sustained efforts to preserve and build upon this milestone in line with international standards.
The Rector also addressed each component of the university community: urging faculty to continue their dedication and embrace modern teaching practices and research engagement; calling on students to uphold seriousness, discipline, and initiative; and commending the role of administrative and technical staff in ensuring the continuity and quality of university services.
Professor Omar Haroune, Vice Director for Evaluation and Quality Assurance at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered a commendation on behalf of the ministry, describing the university’s quality assurance journey as a national model worthy of emulation.
The recognition ceremony formed the centrepiece of the event, with the Quality Assurance Cell — represented by its Head, Professor Meriem Touati, and all its sub-committees — honoured for their sustained collective work throughout the certification process. In a notable moment, Professor Omar Haroune presented a special tribute to Rector Professor Bachir Ameur in recognition of his leadership in driving the university’s quality journey and overseeing the fulfilment of all international certification requirements.
