Conclusion of the English language training course for new faculty members at Blida university 2
The University of Blida 2 concluded today the English language training session for newly appointed faculty members, with a two-day practical **Workshop on Speaking Skills**, overseen by the university’s English Language Training Monitoring Cell in coordination with the Intensive Language Centre.
The workshop complemented the distance learning programme previously completed by faculty members via the ministerial digital platform **DUAL**, with the aim of strengthening their communicative competence in English and enabling them to apply it in their pedagogical and research activities. Sessions were facilitated by Ms. Roumaissa Houari from the Intensive Language Centre, with a focus on practical training and direct interaction. Participants expressed satisfaction with the workshop’s atmosphere and content, offering positive feedback on the quality of instruction and their overall learning experience.
Head of the English Language Training Monitoring Cell, Dr. Sabrina Kateb, explained that * »this workshop complements the distance learning conducted via the DUAL platform and forms part of the university’s effort to support newly recruited faculty and equip them with academic communication tools in English. »* She added that * »the transition from digital training to hands-on speaking practice builds faculty confidence in using the language during teaching, publishing, and scientific conferences, »* noting that the Cell will continue to programme similar initiatives for interested faculty in the future.
