University of Blida 2 encourages its students to transform innovative ideas into startups
The Conference Hall of the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Blida 2 hosted today an awareness and training symposium on **entrepreneurship, business creation, and innovation**, organised by the university’s interfaces in cooperation with the **National Agency for Entrepreneurship Support and Development (NESDA)** in Blida. The symposium was opened by Rector Professor Bachir Ameur, in the presence of Faculty Dean Professor Farida Ben Othman, university officials, faculty, and students.
In his address, the Rector affirmed that the university places support for entrepreneurial initiatives and encouraging students to move from idea to project at the top of its priorities, stressing the importance of embedding a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation on campus in order to produce graduates capable of creating wealth and jobs and meeting the demands of the labour market and current economic transformations. He urged students to make use of the mechanisms and programmes offered by the university and its partners for accompaniment and training.
Directors of the interfaces and annexes delivered detailed presentations on how to turn ideas into field projects, outlining the main support and accompaniment mechanisms available to student project holders, and addressing the stages of establishing a start-up, funding opportunities, and the specialised training provided by the relevant bodies.
The symposium drew wide interaction from attendees, with faculty and students raising questions on eligibility for support schemes and ways of realising projects, which the facilitators answered in line with students’ aspirations, strengthening their entrepreneurial initiative.
The event was organised by the **Entrepreneurship Development Centre** under Director Dr. Mohamed Maamri, with the participation of the **Business Incubator** under Professor Asma Istanbuli, the **Technology Support and Innovation Centre** under Dr. Maryam Lachab, and the **University-Enterprise Liaison Office** headed by Dr. Jamal Eddine Silini, alongside the heads of the annexes.
