University of Blida 2 Lounici Ali officially kicked off the 2025/2026 academic year
University of Blida 2 Lounici Ali officially kicked off the 2025/2026 academic year, this Sunday morning with a particular academic ceremony at the Grand Conference Hall Saïd Ayadi. The ceremony was distinguished by the presence of prominent personalities and high officials, namely the Governor of the province Mr. Ibrahim Ouchane, the President and the Public Prosecutor of the Blida Judicial Council, as well as the Acting President of the Provincial People’s Assembly, members of the parliament and academic figures and administrative officials in a promotion of the occasion’s academic significance.
The ceremony opened with an address by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific research, Professor Kamel Baddari, who opened the academic year from Tissemsilt university. His statement was streamed live as part of the engagement program. The ceremony continued with several sequences, starting with the address by the University’s Rector, Professor Farid Kourtel, who provided a full overview of the university achievements and future vision.
In this context, Professor Kourtel introduced the new announcements at Blida 2 University for the current academic year, including the launch of training at the school for primary school teachers with 535 spots. In addition, he spoke about the initiation of the implementation of ISO 9001 standards at the university, as well as the new incentive awards for this academic year, the Best Faculty Award, the Best Researcher Award (at both faculty and university levels), and the Best Employee Award. He stated that these awards serve to stimulate favorable competition and performance, reiterating the university’s dedication to improving both the institution and higher education as a whole.
In terms of infrastructure, Recture pointed to the announcement of two important projects: the 1,000 seat project and the University Village project, commending the Governor for pushing forward both projects. On this occasion, the Governor, Ibrahim Ouchane, was recognized and thanked for the importance of local authorities with the role they extension to the university, highlighting the great partnership between the and administration facilities in the service of higher education in the province.
Dr. Malika Mohammedi made a special presentation called « Moudjahid Lounici Ali: Remembrance and Inspiration from His Life Journey » in another section, honoring the martyr whose name the university proudly bears.
In addition, the ceremony included the recognition of accomplished professors as the university honored faculty members who were promoted to Full Professor in the 51st session, which recognized their impressive academic and research achievements across faculties. The university also recognized its top three students in English Language Studies who graduated with distinction, as a way of showing their commitment to lifelong professional growth.
