The University of Blida 2 helding the international Conference on “Mental Health and Quality of Life in the University Environment”

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at University of Blida 2 held today the international Conference on “Mental Health and Quality of Life in the University Environment.”
The event was opened by Professor Saïd Boukhaouch, Vice-Rector for Pedagogy, representing Rector Professor Farid Kourtel, in the presence of the faculty’s dean, Professor Redouane Zaamouchi.
Speakers highlighted the importance of mental health as a key factor for all members of the university community, emphasizing the need to build a supportive educational environment in line with the Ministry of Higher Education’s strategy.
Conference Chair professor Ibrahim Rabah Abdelkader stated that the topic was chosen following previous recommendations recognizing the crucial role of mental health in the success of universities, noting that psychological and social pressures impact academic and administrative performance, and stressing the need for effective psychological support mechanisms.
Dr. Meriem Touati, Head of the Quality Assurance Unit, emphasized the link between mental health and quality standards in higher education, explaining that the pursuit of ISO 9001 certification requires special attention to the well-being of all university members.
