The National Conference on “Mechanisms to Support and Improve the Investment Climate in Algeria”

Professor Farid Kourtel, Rector of University of Blida 2 , inaugurated today the National Conference on “Mechanisms to Support and Improve the Investment Climate in Algeria,” organized by the Laboratory for Economic and Human Development at the Faculty of Economic, Commercial, and Management Sciences. The event was attended by the Faculty Dean, Professor Mohamed Lamine Merakchi, along with academics and economic experts.
The conference brought together senior officials from major financial and economic institutions, including the Director General of the Local Development Bank, the Deputy Director General of the SME Investment Loan Guarantee Fund, the Director of the Decentralized One-Stop Investment Promotion Office, a representative of the Gitex Group, and the Director of Industry for Blida province. Their contributions highlighted the strong interest of economic institutions in the outcomes of this scientific event.
In his remarks, Professor Kortel noted that the conference coincides with “a national context of deep economic reforms,” stressing that improving the investment climate requires joint efforts between academia, government, and the private sector. Professor Amer Bachir, Head of the organizing laboratory, affirmed its commitment to addressing strategic national economic issues, while Dr. Ghaniya Saad, Conference Chair, emphasized Algeria’s vast economic potential and the need for effective mechanisms to turn it into a competitive investment environment.
